What does the Montgenevre ski resort have to offer?
Montgenevre - Montgenevre is known as the snowiest part of the Franco-Italian Milky Way ski area, with its great snow record and largely north-facing slopes. The Milky Way boasts over 400 km of piste (145 ski runs) of which 90 km have artificial snowmaking facilities. With 93 ski lifts, skiers of all standards have a vast choice of varied and picturesque routes. There is also a brand new snow park for boarders. Montgenevre was the first official ski resort in France, hosting the first international ski competition in 1907. Today, it is know as one of the jewels of the Milky Way, one of the largest ski areas in Europe, and host to the 2006 Winter Olympics. The village itself still retains its charming and traditional village centre. Non-skiing: Cinema, natural ice rink and toboggan run, snowshoe hiking, paragliding, horse riding, heli-skiing (landing in Italy), bars, restaurants and night clubs.
